DES MOINES, IOWA – (August 22, 2024) A new partnership between Faith Baptist Bible College and Mercy College of Health Sciences will allow students to earn an Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies from Faith Baptist College and an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Mercy College.

Leaders from both colleges met on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, to sign the formal agreement into action.

“This partnership between two centennial institutions collaborating to produce graduates that go out and make a difference when many others are just trying to make a point is very exciting!” said Faith Baptist Bible College President Jim Tillotson, DDiv, MMin. “These two distinctive degrees from our prestigious institutions will lay the foundation for successful careers for our compassionate, knowledgeable graduates to become outstanding servant leaders in their fields.”

After completing their degree at Faith Baptist, students who meet admission requirements will be eligible to begin nursing coursework at Mercy College. Upon successful completion of the nursing program, students are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN exam).

Mercy College’s one-year Accelerated BSN offers three start dates per year in the fall, spring, and summer semesters, enabling a convenient transition for students.

“The combination of these two degrees and disciplines – faith and science – are foundational to the success of these future healthcare professionals,” Mercy College President Adreain Henry, OD, EdD, MBA, explained. “Faith underscores everything we do, and we are committed to upholding our shared Christian values through this innovative partnership.”

Mercy College offers similar Accelerated BSN partnership programs across the state of Iowa with Buena Vista University, Loras College, and Simpson College.
