3+1 WITH Loras College
This 3+1 option allows you to earn two degrees in four years on ONE college campus! Each institution grants their own respective degree. The degrees will be conferred at the same time so that you don’t lose eligibility for certain forms of financial aid. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at Mercy College is an accelerated curriculum that is completed on Loras College’s campus following the third year of your undergraduate degree program at Loras. That means you’ll be able to complete your nursing lecture, lab, and simulation courses on Loras College’s campus and attend your clinical experiences without ever leaving the Dubuque area!
Mercy College’s Accelerated BSN offers all required nursing coursework on Loras’ campus over five terms (one year) of intensive study, allowing you to earn your BSN and sit for your licensing exam in only 12 months! During the nursing course work, you will explore nursing content across the life span, learn about diverse acute care, and immerse yourself in community clinical settings. By the time you graduate, you’ll be prepared to assume roles involving leadership, education, research, and community health.
Students at Loras College interested in participating in the 3+1 must also be admitted to Mercy College and satisfy program admission requirements before beginning the Accelerated BSN program at Mercy College.
Not a Loras College student, but still interested? No problem! Our cohort in Dubuque is open to any students in the area who meet our Mercy College and Accelerated BSN program admission requirements.
Contact our Program Admissions Coordinator and schedule a time to go over any questions you might still have!
