When preparing a thank you letter to a scholarship donor, please consider the following areas of focus. (View a sample thank you letter)

• Express appreciation to the donor
• Name the specific scholarship received
• Identify scholarship coverage dates
• Describe how scholarships will assist your academic pursuits
• Identify name of degree and profession you are currently enrolled or pursuing
• Convey how degree will help you and your community
• As desired, identify specific learning experiences and/or professor that have had a positive impact in helping you in your studies
• Close with a positive affirmation to the donor of your appreciation for the scholarship
