CHART YOUR COURSE
BECOME AN EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (EMT)
Mercy College’s one-semester Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course (15 weeks) includes both classroom instruction and clinical experiences. By the end of the course, you’ll be prepared to enter the emergency medical services in a 911 emergency response service or a private transportation service. EMT is the “gateway” course for all other levels of EMS Certification.
OUR BODY OF WORK
ABOUT OUR EMT PROGRAM
To ensure you’re ready to enter the field with the proper experience to be successful, you will be required to assess 15 patients in order to complete the clinical requirement for this course. The clinical rotations will prepare you for your role as a volunteer or employee of an ambulance service.
Should you decide to further your education, this certificate program fulfills one of the pre-requisite requirements for admission to the Paramedic Certificate program at Mercy College.
