Mercy College of Health Sciences has welcomed new president, Dr. Adreain Henry to campus. A Mississippi native, Dr. Henry comes to Mercy College from San Antonio, Texas, where he served as the Chief Academic Officer and Associate Provost at Hallmark University.
Dr. Henry was appointed the fourth President of Mercy College in April following an extensive national search conducted by Hyatt-Fennell Executive Search, an administrative search firm, and led by the Board of Directors’ presidential search committee. In the months since he was named president, Dr. Henry has spent his time preparing for his role by attending several administrative meetings to familiarize himself with Mercy College’s history and the potential opportunities to build on its rich heritage.
Dr. Henry, joined by his wife, Karen, and their two children Abrielle and Adreain Jr., has recently relocated to the Des Moines area.
“My family and I are ecstatic to be a part of the Mercy College and Des Moines community,” Dr. Henry stated. “I am filled with gratitude to be able to serve our students alongside the dedicated, compassionate, and distinguished faculty, staff, board and alumni of Mercy College. It has been a joy and privilege to learn more about the traditions established by Mercy College throughout the institution’s longstanding history of service and excellence. I am humbled by the faith and trust bestowed on me by the Board of Directors and campus community, and look forward to working with my new colleagues and generous community supporters. Together, we can bring the vision of this phenomenal institution to life and help our students become compassionate, knowledgeable, and exceptional leaders to those who entrust their care to them.”
The community is invited to meet Dr. Henry and his family at the Out to Lunch event hosted by the Greater Des Moines Partnership on July 13, 2022. Local food trucks will be available from 11 am to 1:30 pm. The event will be held at the intersection of Crocker and 7th Street, in the Crocker Street parking lot of Mercy College of Health Sciences located at 701 Crocker Street. Additional details on the Out to Lunch series and the upcoming event can be found on the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s website.
