(Des Moines, IA) – Mercy College of Health Sciences celebrates a record number of students – again. For the third consecutive semester, enrollment at Mercy College has continued to climb. The summer semester totaled 79 new students, which is the largest new student enrollment for the summer semester.
“The continued interest in our year-round coursework shows the changing demand of today’s students. Mercy College students want to obtain their degree quickly in a format that meets their unique life circumstance,” said Matt Romkey, Vice President of Enrollment and Engagement. “Recently we’ve launched accelerated, online, and hybrid courses that enable students to participate wherever and whenever it is convenient for them.”
In a time of declining enrollment for many private colleges locally and nationally, Mercy College experienced a 22% increase in new students last year.
“There is a great need for healthcare professionals in our communities and across the country,” Romkey said. “Our unique community partnerships enable us to provide students with the necessary education and clinical rotations. With our history dating back to 1899, it’s hard to break records, but we look forward to exceeding enrollment targets for terms to come.”
The fall semester starts September 3, 2019. Applications are still being accepted.
