(DES MOINES, IA) June 5, 2020 — Mercy College of Health Sciences has operated safely and efficiently off campus since March 16 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A Mercy College Return to Campus Task Force, alongside the College’s leadership team, has been working diligently to formulate a plan for a safe and gradual return campus.

The College’s Return to Campus Plan follows recommendations from the federal government, Iowa Department of Public Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Considerations for Institutes of Higher Education.

Mercy College’s first phase of returning to campus specifically prioritizes lab experiences in keeping with the College’s well-known hands-on learning. Programs and courses with a lab or competency component will be allowed to resume on campus beginning July 6, with restrictions.

Mercy College’s Return to Campus Task Force will diligently monitor developments related to existing plans with the ability to adjust reopening processes as necessary.
