October is National Physical Therapy Month which gives an opportunity to raise awareness of the benefits of physical therapy. Physical Therapy (PT) is a branch of rehabilitative health that uses specially designed exercises and equipment to help patients regain or improve their physical abilities.
“There are a lot of people who know what physical therapy consists of, so it’s great to bring awareness to what PT is and how it improves movement and quality of life for people," stated Sue Bravard, PT, MS, Mercy College Physical Therapist Assistant Program Chair.

Mercy College’s Physical Therapist Assistant program is a five-semester associate degree that incorporates classroom instruction, practice in skills lab, and clinical experience. Graduates are eligible to sit for the Physical Therapist Assistant National Physical Therapy Exam.
