Technology Specialist

The specialist will provide end user support for computer hardware and software platforms for students and College employees.  The individual will troubleshoot and recommend resolutions.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; 2 years experience in computer hardware deployment and maintenance; 2 years experience in computer lab management.  Microsoft certification and experience in an academic environment preferred.

 Current Open Positions

EMS Instructor

Responsible for teaching and advising students in the EMT-Basic and Paramedic Programs.  The incumbent will also coordinate and teach American Heart Association courses.

Qualifications include a 2 year degree in a related field; the National Registry Certification at the Paramedic level; Iowa certification as a Paramedic; Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, AMLS.  Iowa EMS Instructor and EMS Evaluator Endorsement preferred.

Counselor  Part-time (20 hours/week)

The Counselor position will provide short-term academic, personal or emotional needs counseling to students.

Qualifications include a master's degree in counseling or related field; at least one year of related experience in an academic environment; demonstrated ability with assessment, diagnosis and interventions for issues frequently faced by college students.

AmericaCorp VISTA

The AmericaCorp VISTA member will work in collaboration with Mercy College to organize and oversee development of community partnerships and implementation of Service Learning and college-wide community service.  The VISTA will identify community needs, foster community partnerships, maintain communications, and track service learning and community service experiences.

Student Health Nurse

The Student Health Nurse will provide health and wellness care to students and review medical histories to provide proper guidance to students regarding clinical activities.

Candidates will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; 2 years experience working as a nurse in a clinical environment and a current and valid Iowa RN license.

Program Chair, Nursing

The position will be responsible for administering the programs within the School of Nursing.  Responsibilities include faculty oversight, curriculum development, policy and procedure development and accreditation and retention activities.  The incumbent will be asked to teach one course per semester.

Qualifications include a PhD or EdD in a related field, Master's degree in Nursing or Nursing Education; 5 years experience teaching in a higher education institution, current and valid Iowa RN license and 5 years experience as a Registered Nurse.

Assistant Professor-Nursing

The position will be responsible for teaching, advising and providing guidance to nursing students.

Qualifications include a PhD or EdD; Master's degree in Nursing or Nursing Education; demonstrated academic teaching. 

Assistant Professor-Natural Sciences (part-time)

This position will be responsible for providing teaching and guidance to students in the natural sciences. 

Qualifications include a PhD and 2 years academic teaching and/or professional experience in the teaching responsibility.

Ultrasound Clinical Coordinator, Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program (DMS)

Full-time instructor needed to teach didactic and clinical portions of the DMS program.

Qualifications include: associates degree, minimum two years experience as a full-time (35 hours/week) general sonographer, cardiac sonographer, and/or vascular technologist, credentials appropriate to the concentration(s) offered and proficiency in teaching methodology, supervision, instruction, evaluation and guidance.

Adjunct Faculty Positions

Nursing

Adjunct instructors are needed to teach in the clinical environments for the Associate of Nursing program.

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and 2 years experience as a RN. Current and valid Iowa Registered Nursing license is required.

CPR, ACLS and PALS

Adjunct instructors are needed to teach CPR, ACLS and PALS courses.

Qualifications include a BLS certification in CPR for the Healthcare Worker and experience in healthcare delivery. CPR, ACLS and PALS instructors must have a current Instructor Certification.  For ACLS and PALS a minimum of 1 year experience as an ACLS or PALS provider is required.
